YC EDU 255 Spring '11

An online saga of the continuing struggles that teachers experience in trying to make their subjects interesting and relevant to their students.

New Day

It's Sunday morning--some would say it is "Super Bowl Sunday" morning. But, not me.

Although I have blogged before (http://asnereynoldsphoenix.blogspot.com/, and http://wranglernews.blogspot.com/), I still find myself excited about the new blogs that my classmates and I have created for the EDU 255 course that began Saturday.

There is something enticing about the newness of a course where we will be getting to know our colleagues, or getting to know them in a different way.

I think all of us in the class are teachers at various levels, and that many enrolled in this course so that we can learn to become better educators, using technology as a device to enhance our learners’ experience.

Over the track of the next several weeks, no doubt we will have “Aha!” moments as well as “Oh, rats!” ones.  But, we learn. And we share.

It was a delight to meet all of you, and I hope to be a positive touch upon our group.

Well, Blogging on Super Bowl Sunday is probably not what most will be doing, but I am and I see you are too.

This class is full of ah-ha moments form many. We have watched it many times. We have also seen a lot of emails with lots of anxiety and worry. But the end result is that teachers see and start to use some of these tools that can help students learn information.

I see you have other blogspot blogs. Have you ever tried Wordpress? If not, it is a slight learning curve as the interface is different, but there are more options for templates, gadgets and such.

Good to have you in the class and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
